Dr. Taras Klitovchenko, Periodontist
Dr Taras Klitovchenko is a board certified Periodontist, specializing in dental implant and implant-related surgery, complex extraction of teeth, as well as surgical correction of periodontal defects such as gingiva(gum) recession, to help salvage and maintain teeth affected by periodontal disease. He has a particular interest in advanced bone and soft tissue grafting, which are procedures designed to regenerate lost tissues to allow for the placement of dental implants at sites that would otherwise have insufficient bone.
Dr Taras obtained his dental (DMD) degree from McGill University in 2015. After several years of practice as a general dentist, he sought to advance his growing passion for surgery through a one-year hospital-based dental residency program at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital. Following this, he completed a 3 year full-time clinical specialty program in Periodontology at the University of Alberta. To complement his formal training, Dr Taras attends continuing education courses and meetings to keep up with the latest advancements in periodontal, regenerative, and implant dentistry.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Madeleine, who shares his passion for teeth as an orthodontist. They enjoy travelling, discovering new places to eat, and maintain an active lifestyle.
